Good Naked (Brooklyn NY) is pleased to present PLEASURE DOME, a collaborative exhibition of works by Jenal Dolson & Trish Tillman. PLEASURE DOME will open on Friday, September 26th from 6-8pm.
This site-responsive exhibition brings together mural painting and sculptural wall works, creating a spatial tension and interplay between surface and volume.
Dolson and Tillman continue their engagement with imagery evocative of the body, employing shapes and forms suggestive of skins, gestures, containment, and movement. Changing and adapting surfaces across their works, the two artists together draw connections between internal and external spaces as they respond to bodily, architectural, and psychological elements.
The title of this exhibition draws inspiration from poetry, transitional objects, funhouses, and spaces engineered for delight. Somehow laced with distortion, playful waves and textures undulate across surfaces, noting boundaries between the fixed and the imaginary.
Objects of influence - door knockers, thermostats, light switches - are stripped of clear function yet retain familiarity. They evoke the domestic, but are recontextualized into a kind of storeroom display, adorned with ropes, tassels, and protruding spikes. These embellishments oscillate between festivity and threat, playing with a visual language of discomfort wrapped in decoration.
It is a constructed scape this pleasure space - part home, part carnival, part subconscious - where every moment reads both as invitation and warning.

Jenal Dolson (Canadian, b. 1983) lives and works in Chicago, Illinois as an artist and arts professional. She received her MFA in 2020, from the University of South Florida, and her B.A., in 2007, from the University of Waterloo (Ontario, Canada). Residencies include the Dorland Mountain Arts Colony (Temecula, CA), The Kimball Arts Center (Chicago, IL), Tempus Projects (Tampa, FL), Artscape Gibraltar Point (Toronto, ON), and the Vermont Studio Centre (Johnson, VT). Recent exhibitions and presentations include A| AH| D Gallery at the University of Notre Dame (South Bend, IN), EXPO Chicago, 65Grand (Chicago, IL), Barely Fair, Good Naked Gallery, (Chicago, IL), 65Grand (Chicago, IL), Hyde Park Art Center (Chicago, IL), ANDREW RAFACZ (Chicago, IL), Comfort Station (Chicago, IL), and the Stephanie Anne Roper Gallery at Frostburg State University (Frostburg, MA).
Trish Tillman received an MFA from School of Visual Arts in Fine Art. Her work has been featured in solo exhibitions at Asya Geisberg Gallery, NYC; Andrew Rafacz, Chicago, IL; VisArts, Richmond, VA; and Civilian Projects, Washington, DC. Group exhibitions include BravinLee Projects, NYC; COUNTY, Palm Beach, FL; Shelter, NYC; New Discretions, NYC; Emerson Dorsch Gallery, Miami, FL; HILDE, Los Angeles, CA; Tiger Strikes Asteroid, Philadelphia, PA; Delaware Contemporary, Wilmington, DE; Museum of Contemporary Art Arlington, VA; and Slag Gallery, NYC. Tillman is a recipient of a Joan Mitchell Foundation Grant, the Hopper Prize, and the UNTITLED Fountainhead Residency. She has been featured in UNTITLED, NADA and Future Art Fairs. Her work has been reviewed in ARTFORUM, Sculpture Magazine, Vogue and Juxtapose, among others.
